Job Details
A Support AMS Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the Application Management Services (AMS) in an organization. Their primary role is to manage, monitor, and enhance the support and maintenance of software applications that are critical to business operations. This position typically exists in IT services, consulting firms, or organizations with complex IT landscapes.
Key Responsibilities of a Support AMS Manager:- Service Delivery Management:
- Ensure smooth functioning of AMS by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Act as the primary escalation point for any application-related issues.
- Team Management:
- Manage a team of support engineers, consultants, or analysts.
- Allocate resources effectively and ensure the team has the necessary skills and training.
- Incident and Problem Management:
- Oversee the resolution of application-related incidents and recurring problems.
- Implement strategies to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
- Vendor and Client Management:
- Coordinate with third-party vendors providing AMS.
- Communicate with stakeholders or clients to understand their needs and align AMS accordingly.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of application support.
- Propose upgrades or process optimizations in collaboration with IT and business teams.
- Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, data security standards, and industry regulations.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to application management processes.
- Cost and Budget Management:
- Plan and manage the AMS budget to optimize costs without compromising service quality.
- Strong understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks.
- Experience in managing AMS for enterprise applications like SAP, Oracle, or Salesforce.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of software lifecycle management, cloud services, and DevOps.
