Job Title: Azure Data Architect - Databricks Champion
Location: New Jersey/ New York (Hybrid 3 Days)
Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Architect with deep expertise in Databricks a true Databricks Champion to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, cloud-native data solutions. This role requires hands-on experience building advanced data architectures using the Azure ecosystem and Databricks for analytics, machine learning, and real-time data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement end-to-end data platforms on Azure using Databricks as the core processing engine.

• Define and enforce data architecture best practices across multiple business units.

• Lead the development of scalable, high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark on Databricks.

• Optimize Delta Lake performance and manage Lakehouse architecture.

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business teams to support analytics and ML use cases.

• Establish governance, security, and monitoring practices for Databricks environments.

• Drive innovation and standardization across data engineering teams using Databricks.

Required Skills:

• Proven expertise in Databricks Spark optimization, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.

• 5+ years of experience in Azure Data Services: Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Storage Gen2, Event Hubs.

• Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.

• Experience with data modeling, warehouse design, and performance tuning.

• Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Databricks Champion or completion of Databricks Academy advanced tracks.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect / Data Engineer Associate.

• Exposure to real-time data streaming and large-scale analytics platforms.

• Experience with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
