Title: Sr. Engineer (Microsoft 365 CoPilot)
Location: Remote (ET)
Duration: Long Term Project - 6+ months
Compensation: $90-106.00/hr

We are seeking an accomplished Senior IT Engineer with deep, hands-on experience in Microsoft Copilot technologies, including Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Chatbot, and Copilot Studio. This individual will work within our Security Engineering department to develop AI-powered solutions tailored for security use cases using generative AI tools primarily Microsoft Copilot.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience and will also play a key role in enabling and mentoring internal team members on how to develop, configure, and deploy Copilot agents for various security tools using Copilot Studio. In addition, this role will be instrumental in demonstrating the value of Copilot-driven solutions to upper management through effective showcases and outcomes.
This role requires strong technical capabilities across Microsoft's Generative AI stack, as well as familiarity with a variety of security tools (e.g., Splunk, SentinelOne, Brinqa). The ideal candidate is passionate about applied AI and will lead efforts to develop Copilot agents, plugins, and connectors, while ensuring data is securely used and governed across all systems.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
- Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of Copilot-based solutions, focusing on:
- Copilot for Microsoft 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Copilot Chatbots for security workflows
- Copilot Studio for low-code/no-code experiences and connector development
- Design and implement Microsoft Graph connectors and APIs to integrate Copilot with:
- Splunk (SIEM)
- SentinelOne (EDR)
- Brinqa (Risk/Vulnerability Management)
- Tenable, Wiz, and similar security platforms
- Work within the security engineering team to identify and prioritize high-impact Copilot use cases for threat detection, incident response, compliance, and reporting.
- Define secure, scalable strategies for training and augmenting Copilot with internal data using RAG pipelines, vector embeddings, and Azure OpenAI models.
- Build and manage custom Copilot plugins, prompt flows, and dashboards that enhance productivity across InfoSec and IT Ops teams.
- Ensure robust data governance and access control aligned with security and compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and internal data policies.
- Act as a thought leader and internal SME for Microsoft's Copilot ecosystem and future GenAI applications within the organization.
- 10+ years of experience in IT engineering, architecture, or cybersecurity. Hands-on experience in engineering, hands-on experience in building, designing, and maintaining enterprise tools.
- 10+ years of Microsoft Technology Experience (Entra, Azure, Cloud and AI Services). Candidate must have extensive experience with Microsoft Technologies listed above.
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot technologies, including: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chatbot development and orchestration, Copilot Studio and plugin/connector design.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Copilot Chatbot development and orchestration
- Copilot Studio and plugin/connector design
- Expertise with Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs, and enterprise system integration
- Experience integrating and automating with enterprise security platforms, such as:
- Splunk
- SentinelOne
- Brinqa
- Tenable, Wiz
- Solid understanding of secure AI practices, including private data training, prompt tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model access controls
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript/TypeScript, and scripting/data transformation tools
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender suite, Defender for Endpoint, DPSM (Defender for Cloud Security Posture Management), Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service, semantic search, and vector database architecture (e.g., Azure Cognitive Search, Pinecone)
- Prior experience developing Copilot agents for SOC, ITSM, or DevSecOps use cases
- Microsoft certifications: AI Engineer Associate, Security Operations Analyst, or Azure Solutions Architect
1) Hands-on technical experience with networking and computing system architectures, specifically, the security aspects thereof.
2) Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, principles, policy frameworks, and best practices
3) Hands-on technical experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and how they affect architecture designs and review
