Position: Functional BI Consultant 
Location : Houston ,TX (Onsite)

Position Overview

The Functional BI Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing BI solutions, and ensuring that data-driven insights support strategic and operational decision-making. This role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical BI/analytics teams—translating business needs into functional specifications, dashboards, and reports that drive measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and analyze business requirements for reporting and analytics.

Translate business needs into functional specifications, KPIs, and data definitions.

Design user-centric BI solutions including dashboards, reports, and data models.

Collaborate with technical BI developers, data engineers, and business users.

Conduct UAT, validate data accuracy, and troubleshoot data issues.

Create wireframes/mockups for dashboards and support development teams.

Identify process improvements and enable data-driven decision-making.

Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to BI users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in business analysis and requirements gathering.

Solid understanding of BI concepts (KPIs, data modeling, reporting frameworks).

Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).

Functional understanding of SQL or querying concepts.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to convert data insights into actionable business recommendations.
