Project Overview:

Innosoft is the prime contractor for MD THINK, supporting the management, design, development, testing, and implementation of this strategic Information Technology (IT) program. Maryland Benefits is seeking an agile development resource team with required skill sets to build and/or maintain the Maryland Benefits infrastructure/platform, applications development, data repositories, reports and dashboards, and support activities related to network services and system operations.

The Eligibility & Enrollment (E&E) Reporting Team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions for the E&E System. This team ensures accurate, timely, and compliant reporting to support decision-making, performance monitoring, and regulatory compliance. They are also tasked to generate reports on an ad-hoc basis upon the request of all stakeholders.


Duties/Responsibilities:

The Computer Programmer (Junior) shall translate detailed program flowcharts into program-coded instructions used by third- and fourth-generation, or current state-of-the-art computers.

  • Assist in designing and maintaining Aurora (MySQL or PostgreSQL) schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
  • Support data extraction and transformation for reporting dashboards.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to build and refine data models and datasets used in QuickSight and Qlik.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient performance for reporting tools.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of data pipelines from Aurora to visualization platforms.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies, performance issues, and integration bugs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to documentation.

Requirements

Education:

This position requires a Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related scientific or technical discipline; or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.


General Experience:

The candidate must have at least three (3) years of computer programming experience.


Specialized Experience:

Solid foundation in SQL and relational database concepts.

  • Experience with Amazon Aurora or any relational database (MySQL/PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Understanding of AWS services and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience building dashboards or reports in QuickSight and/or Qlik Sense/QlikView.
  • Exposure to Aurora performance tuning, replication, and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
  • Understanding of data modeling for reporting purposes (e.g., star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience with AWS data tools.
