Job Details

Piper Companies is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity to join an established Healthcare Organization in Reading, PA. This position is 100% onsite and will require occasional local travel to multiple sites within the area. *Candidates must be local to Reading, PA or surrounding areas*

Responsibilities of the Jr. Network Engineer:
  • Assist in the replacement and configuration of PCs and network devices.
  • Check and modify IP addresses on network equipment as needed.
  • Execute basic network diagnostic commands on switches, such as the "show" command, to gather information.
  • Perform network cable testing using Fluke testing tools to ensure connectivity and signal quality.
  • Support the IT team in troubleshooting network issues related to hardware and configuration.
  • Document and report findings from network tests and device configurations.
  • Provide on-site support for network equipment and PC installations.

Qualifications of the Jr. Network Engineer:
  • Experience with PC replacement and configuration.
  • Ability to check and modify IP addresses on network devices.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Experience with Fluke testing tools for cable testing and network configuration.
  • Familiarity with network hardware - routers and switches.
  • Experience providing on-site support for PC/network issues.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Compensation for the Jr. Network Engineer:
  • Rate: $33-$38 per hour *Depending on experience*
