Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in the Mortgage domain and a solid technical background in SQL, Power BI, and AWS. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to translate mortgage business requirements into analytical and data-driven solutions. Experience with Python, PySpark, Collibra, and Snowflake will be a huge plus.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with mortgage business stakeholders, loan operations, underwriting, servicing, and secondary marketing teams to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze and translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for data and analytics solutions.
  • Utilize SQL to perform data analysis, data validation, and reporting across large mortgage datasets.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support business decision-making.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to manage and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows in AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, etc.).
  • Provide actionable insights into mortgage portfolio performance, delinquency trends, risk exposure, and servicing metrics.
  • Support regulatory and compliance reporting needs such as HMDA, RESPA, TILA, and GSE reporting requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, governance, and lineage leveraging Collibra where applicable.
  • Use Python or PySpark for advanced analytics, automation, and data transformation tasks (preferred).
  • Work with Snowflake for data warehousing, data modeling, and performance optimization (preferred).
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across mortgage origination, servicing, and secondary markets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Mortgage or Financial Services industry.
  • Strong domain knowledge of the Mortgage lifecycle including origination, underwriting, servicing, secondary marketing, and compliance.
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL for querying, analysis, and validation.
  • Proven experience with Power BI for dashboard and report creation.
  • Working experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, etc.).
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and provide clear business insights.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Huge Plus Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python or PySpark for data analysis, automation, or data transformation.
  • Experience with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse platform.
  • Familiarity with Collibra for data governance, metadata, and lineage management.
  • Experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities for both business and technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data integrity.
