ASD is looking for a Lead Solutions Consultant to lead a high-performance team to help modernize mission critical agency assets from on-premise to the cloud. You will work with other team members to prototype and develop a migration strategy for this complex application comprising over 700 VMs, custom developed software and COTS products.
As a Lead Solutions Consultant you will be responsible for leading a team which will work side by side with the client and existing application team to decompose this application, modernize and propose innovative solutions to help this work be successful. You will work with existing application owners and their teams to develop proofs of concept for migrating various components. Your team will ultimately deliver a cloud landing zone and architecture for this application, an end-to-end migration strategy and assist existing application developers in migrating this system to the cloud.
HOW A Lead Strategy Consultant WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Serves as key technical expert who provides technical expertise in designing, architecting, deploying and maintaining cloud solutions. Provides strategic consulting to internal and external clients of cloud's current capabilities and provides future direction on all cloud products and services.
- Analyze existing application composition and provide migration recommendations following the 6-R's.
- Propose and develop proofs of concept to prove migration approaches.
- Work with the agency client and your team to analyze a system comprising several hundred servers and develop a migration plan for components from Rehosting to Rewriting.
- You will present solutions and results to agency leadership looking to prove this migration will be successful
- You will be part of a highly skilled tiger team brought in to move this agencies most mission critical infrastructure to the cloud.
- You will help modernize an application and environment relied upon thousands of agency employees and integrated with dozens of agency applications.
- You will work with the existing application teams to help them reimagine how their application will work in the cloud.
WHAT YOU LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Demonstrated experience rapidly analyzing client systems (infrastructure and code) and proposing innovative solutions
- Required Experience: 10+ years leading and building high performing teams. 10+ cloud application design and deployment. Demonstrated experience leading refactoring efforts.
- Required Technical Skills: Experience leading and implementing CloudFormation or Terraform based infrastructures, CI/CD pipeline development. Java development and application familiarity.
- Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills and ability to communicate proposed solutions to clients, familiarity working within the federal government IT space. Ability to navigate both on-premise and cloud environments with ease. Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Preferred Skills: AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional Certification.
