Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $50.00 USD Hourly
Description:
Title: Electrical Test Engineer II Location: Newton, MA, (8 AM - 5 PM)
Experience Level: Level 2 (Minimum 3 years required)
Position Summary:
The Electrical Test Engineer II will be a key contributor to the research and development of advanced robotic-assisted systems. This role involves working with complex electro-mechanical assemblies from prototype to verification builds and tests within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electronic testing, debugging, and reworking printed circuit boards (PCBAs).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine test cases and testing environments.
Conduct PCB tests for design verification and characterization.
Perform soldering reworks and test point harnessing.
Debug electronic issues and determine root causes.
Build cables and harnesses for test fixtures and prototypes.
Support repair and updates to existing prototype robotic systems.
Document findings and maintain eCAD part libraries in compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar (associate's degree acceptable with experience).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electronic testing.
Strong understanding of PCBA testing during official design verification.
Excellent soldering skills and experience.
Proficiency in evaluating at least three of the following: Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, BISS-C, motor commutation.
Prior experience in highly regulated industries (medical device, aerospace) preferred.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Knowledge of lab and electronic equipment maintenance is a plus.
Additional Information:
Preferred industries: Medical or automotive manufacturing.
Interest in late-stage manufacturing and formal documentation.
Success in this role is measured by the quality of testing and timely execution.
