Description:
Title: Electrical Test Engineer II Location: Newton, MA, (8 AM - 5 PM)
Experience Level: Level 2 (Minimum 3 years required)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Test Engineer II to join our R&D team. This is a newly created, full-time onsite position supporting the development of our next-generation robotic platform in a regulated medical device environment. You will play a key role in testing, debugging, and refining complex electro-mechanical assemblies from prototype through verification.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine test cases and test environments for PCB assemblies.
  • Execute design verification and characterization tests on electronic components.
  • Perform soldering and rework on prototypes, including test point harnessing.
  • Debug electronic issues and identify root causes.
  • Construct cables and harnesses for test fixtures and prototypes.
  • Maintain and repair prototype robotic systems.
  • Support documentation in compliance with the EVR quality system.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized test environment.
  • Collaborate with full-time engineers to support broader engineering tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Associate's degree with relevant experience also considered).
  • Proficient in using oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and soldering tools.
  • Skilled in PCB rework and electronic testing.
  • Strong understanding of at least three of the following: Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, BISS-C, motor commutation.
  • Excellent soldering and cable assembly skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices or automotive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with late-stage manufacturing and formal documentation processes.
  • Experience with PCBA testing during official design verification.
  • Interest in working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team.
