Job Details
Position: Senior Security Engineer
Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid occasional onsite required)
Duration: 12 Months (with strong possibility of extension)

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data classification and categorization initiatives in line with state-level standards.
- Perform Static and Dynamic Application Security Testing (SAST/DAST) using tools like Mend and Invicti.
- Provide hands-on remediation guidance and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Document application security risks and translate them into actionable user stories.
- Work directly with development and infrastructure teams to resolve identified security issues.
- Support integration with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Security Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in data classification, IAM, and security risk analysis.
- Strong experience with SAST/DAST tools such as Mend, Invicti, or similar platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of common application vulnerabilities (e.g., PII exposure, credential reuse).
- Excellent written documentation and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CISSP)
- Experience automating or integrating security into Agile/Scrum environments
- Familiarity with remediation planning and enterprise DevSecOps workflows
