Job Description
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary work location three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role:
The FCDL IT (Finance, Corporate Development, and Legal IT ) Platform Engineering and SRE team is responsible for the health and reliability of all F CDL IT platforms, including SaaS, COTS, and Homegrown applications, ensuring compliance with GM standards and policy while driving operational excellence. The team also provides critical support to business-facing application teams that drive transformation across the organization .
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead this team of talented system engineers and managers . Y ou will be expected to not only lead your team in setting priorities and ensuring alignment with organizational goals , but also to be deeply technical . This role will define platform strategy that aligns with enterprise direction, e nsuring high ly reliable platforms , and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and operational excellence .
You must be a demonstrated self-learner, be a strong communicator, be customer focused, and lead via both formal and informal relationships.

What Y ou'll Do:
- Lead and grow a team of system engineering m anagers and senior engineers within the Finance, Corporate Development and Legal organization.
- Provide clear strategy and direction, aligning team goals with business objectives while ensuring high quality execution and on time delivery of platforms to support the organization.
- Drive cross functional collaboration across Core IT , Business Application , and platform supplier teams to ensure alignment with GM statement of technical direction and ensure application security fitness across FCDL organization.
- Evaluate system functionality and performance and advocate for optimizations that reduce infrastructure costs while maintaining service reliability.
- Lead, Implement and improve monitoring and observability frameworks, enabling proactive detection and resolution of incidents with minimal manual intervention.
- Work alongside engineers , systems configurators, and platform suppliers to ensure the quality, scalability, and reliability of our services while identifying opportunities to inject new innovations.
- Develop people resource plans, actively support skill and competency growth, and align responsibilities with individual strengths through ongoing career development conversations .
- Conduct deep-dive analyses of incidents and collaborate on post-incident reviews to derive learnings and prevent recurrence. Champion a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields or equivalent work experience.
- Experience leading technical teams through highly sophisticated application platform builds, upgrades, and migrations to new technologies
- Proven e xperience in maintaining and improving complex application platforms such as SAP , Hyperion, OneStream and Legal suite of applications including application fitness , performance tuning, automation, reliability and related tools.
- E xperience with migrating from COTS to Cloud solutions, working closely with software supplier s and ensuring timely ILM of historical data.
- Solid understanding of operating systems, networking, distributed systems, databases, and storage architectures including cloud native technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor managers and senior engineer s while fostering a high-performance, people-first culture .
- Experience handling production incidents, including root cause analysis, mitigation, and working through complex system failures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor managers and senior ICs while fostering a high-performance, people-first engineering culture .
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts to both engineering and business stakeholders. Commitment to collaborative problem-solving and shared ownership of services.
- Proactively k eeps up to date with latest advances in software engineering technologies using available forums.
What will give you a competitive edge
- Deep knowledge in SAP Basis activity, SAP Access Control including GRC , Integration Technologies and SAP BTP .
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies such as AKS, Event Hubs, storage , and Databricks and f amiliarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
