Position: Vertex AI Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (must work EST hours)
Duration: 12 Months + Contract
Summary: My direct client is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer with hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models using Vertex AI in Google Cloud Platform.
This role will support AI-driven initiatives across their organizations cloud environments, working closely with both the data science and security teams to ensure models are scalable, secure, and integrated within enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or cloud automation roles, with at least 2+ years working in Google Cloud Platform environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Vertex AI, including training, tuning, deploying, and monitoring ML models.
- Proficiency in Python, including ML libraries like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
- Strong hands-on experience with Vertex AI, including model building, tuning, deployment, and monitoring
- Deep familiarity with Google Cloud Platform IAM, roles/permissions structure, and access control policies
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles and working in secure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models into security operations (e.g., anomaly detection, threat prediction).
- Familiarity with MLOps frameworks and tooling.
- Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Machine Learning Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
- Understanding of data privacy, model explainability, and responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with Security Command Center, Policy Intelligence, and Google Cloud Platform's security tooling
- Experience with Access Transparency and Google Cloud Platform audit logging
- Knowledge of MLOps workflows, governance, and compliance in regulated environments
