Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer
Location: Kansas City, Missouri 64106 (Hybrid)
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- CI/CD Pipeline Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, and Octopus Deploy.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes for applications across diverse environments (on-premises, cloud, hybrid).
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms for pipeline health and performance.
- Source Control Migration:
- Lead migration efforts for source control repositories (e.g., GitHub to GitLab or vice versa) while ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Standardize branching strategies and repository structures across teams.
- Pipeline Migration:
- Migrate existing pipelines to modern CI/CD solutions while optimizing for speed, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
- Security Integration:
- Integrate security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Veracode, and Checkmarx into CI/CD pipelines to enforce code quality and vulnerability detection.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
- Artifact Management:
- Manage artifact repositories using tools like Artifactory and Nexus for efficient storage and retrieval of build artifacts.
- Implement versioning and retention policies for artifacts.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Act as a technical leader and mentor for DevOps teams, providing guidance on best practices for CI/CD and automation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define DevOps strategies aligned with business goals.
- Toolchain Optimization:
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for CI/CD, source control, and artifact management.
- Ensure seamless integration between tools in the DevOps ecosystem.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Spinnaker, Octopus Deploy, and Digital.ai.
- Strong knowledge of source control systems (GitHub, GitLab) and branching strategies.
- Hands-on experience with security tools like SonarQube, Veracode, and Checkmarx.
- Expertise in artifact management tools like Artifactory and Nexus.
- Automation and Scripting:
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy) for pipeline automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is a plus.
- Cloud and Containerization:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of orchestration tools for deploying applications in cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in DevOps tools or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, GitLab Certified CI/CD Specialist).
- Experience with pipeline migration in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
