Our client in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced SAP Data Archiving Specialist to lead the design and execution of SAP data archiving strategies across multiple business areas. This role will involve close collaboration with business process owners, IT analysts, and Tier 2 technical/functional teams to implement effective archiving solutions, ensure post-go-live support, and maintain data integrity across integrated systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deep SAP knowledge, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders toward a common data management approach.

responsibilities:
- Design and implement SAP Data Archiving solutions based on business and technical requirements
- Collaborate with business process owners and IT teams to conduct blueprinting and object analysis
- Provide post-implementation training and support to Tier 2 technical/functional teams
- Resolve complex issues related to data archiving and ensure minimal business disruption
- Facilitate cross-functional team alignment and decision-making on data management topics
- Ensure proper integration of archiving solutions across various SAP modules and business areas
- Identify and address data volume management concerns to improve system performance
- Develop documentation and best practices related to SAP data archiving
- Participate in audits or compliance checks as needed
- Monitor and optimize archiving processes for continued operational efficiency
qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on SAP experience, including 3+ years specifically in SAP Data Archiving
- Proven experience implementing SAP Data Archiving strategies in ECC and/or S/4HANA environments
- Strong knowledge of SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) is highly preferred
- Experience with data volume management, retention policies, and compliance considerations
- Familiarity with SAP modules such as FI, MM, SD, and HR and their archiving objects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
- SAP Certification in relevant modules or data management disciplines is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent communication skills for working with business and technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting post-implementation environments and training support teams
