Financial Analyst / Associate Python, PostgreSQL & Data Engineering
Location: Remote (Preferred time zones: US / UK / HK overlap)

About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst or Associate with strong Python, PostgreSQL, and data engineering skills to help build the backend of a next-generation investment intelligence platform for one of our most important clients. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance and technology and has experience supporting hedge funds, family offices, or other data-driven investment platforms.
You ll play a key role in designing and implementing the data layer and core logic that powers analytics, risk management, and investment decision-making. This role sits within a broader architecture effort led by the Airbrx team and involves close collaboration with both technical and financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement the backend architecture for a financial data platform, including data ingestion, transformation, and storage


Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and PostgreSQL


Write performant, maintainable SQL to support analytics, dashboards, and portfolio reporting


Integrate third-party data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, SEC/EDGAR) into a unified investment data model


Collaborate with architects and client teams to ensure alignment with overall platform vision


Perform ad hoc financial modeling and scenario analysis to support client investment workflows


Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across key financial datasets


Contribute to ongoing system design, documentation, and implementation roadmap

Preferred Qualifications
2 5 years of experience in a hedge fund, family office, asset management firm, or investment research role


Strong Python skills for data processing, analysis, and API integration (Pandas, NumPy, etc.)


Deep experience with PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, indexing, and maintenance


Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/Google Cloud Platform)


Familiarity with time-series financial data, investment analytics, and risk modeling


Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and workflows


Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments with both business and engineering teams
