Job Summary
The Sr Enterprise Data Steward is the subject mater expert on the data governance framework and policies aligned with the Enterprise Data & Analytics Office. They work closely with data management teams, business teams and IT teams to ensure the quality, integrity, and governance of data assets across the enterprise. The Sr Enterprise Data Steward onboards, coordinates and supports data owners and data stewards in data governance activities.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Data Governance & Architecture
Manage new data initiatives and approved data use cases; prioritizing and defining requirements for data domains and key data elements with domain teams
Onboard, coordinates with and supports domain teams to ensure application of policies & standards; performs check-ins with domain teams for ongoing domain sustainability efforts
Data Catalog
Define/Validate requirements for data elements and populate the enterprise data catalog
Review and refresh (as required) data lineage, and business and technical metadata
Implement changes to business definitions
Data Quality
Define quality rules for data within domain
Oversee remediation of data quality issues in partnership with data stewards & custodians
Change Management
Serves as a data governance subject matter expert, defining and refining data governance processes, best practices and policies in a federated data governance operating model
Be a change agent to enable enterprise adoption of Data Governance processes, best practices and policies through training, communications, lunch & learns, etc.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
10+ years minimum of progressive experience in data discipline such as data management, data governance, data architecture or a related area
Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Data Architecture & Design
Demonstrated project management experience designing and implementing data governance initiatives in a management role
Expertise in data management concepts, data governance frameworks, and data quality principles
Experience with data catalog, data management and data quality tools (e.g., Alation catalog, Alation marketplace, Big Eye, DBT)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to effectively and persuasively communicate standards, practices, and initiatives to drive data governance throughout the organization
Ability to liaise with data owners, data stewards and data consumers on both business and technical levels, translating business requirements into technical requirements
Knowledge of data sources, transformation rules, and uses of data for the area of data stewardship
Experience in performance management metrics

Operational Excellence: Streamline and Simplification of solution portfolio.
Continuous Improvement: Increased cost efficiency in solution delivery.
Improve enterprise data quality (accurate, consistent and trustworthy) and support data privacy and security through proper data classification
