Description:

The EDI Specialist is responsible for establishing, monitoring and maintaining integration between client's internal enterprise application (SAP) and external suppliers and customers, via a Cloud-based EDI solution hosted by a managed-services provider. In addition to providing world-class support to a globally diverse customer and trading partner base, the employee will independently lead initiatives to establish new connectivity and integration with applications and trading partners using a variety of EDI standards. The specialist will also build foundational expertise in API-led integration and AI-driven automation, by enabling real-time, scalable, and intelligent data flows with suppliers and customers.

 

Responsibilities:

 • Monitor daily integration processes across EDI protocols, SAP IDoc interfaces, and related ports, ensuring timely error resolution.

• Collaborate with internal teams and the EDI managed services partner to analyze and resolve integration issues using monitoring tools and SAP. Internal teams include IT&SAP specialists, sales admin & customer service, shipping, finance, purchasing and production planning teams.

• Provide support across application-to-application and business-to-business integration technologies.

• Manage relationships with trading partner EDI coordinators to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.

• Negotiate project scope, timelines, and delivery schedules with internal teams and external partners.Monitor daily integration processes and resolve errors timely. Integration scope includes a multitude of EDI protocols, SAP idocs interface and related ports, and possibly other application to application and business to business integration technologies.

• Coordinate and deliver EDI change requests in alignment with business needs.

• Lead project planning sessions with customers, business analysts, and team members to define and analyze business requirements.

• Adhere to standard IT procedures and compliance practices.

• Provide guidance to the managed services partner on EDI mapping specifications.

• Prepare functional specifications, test plans, user documentation, technical integration documentation, and control plans.

• Prepare and execute integration test plans, ensuring robust test environments and accurate simulated EDI test data.

• Coordinate and execute testing activities with the managed services partner.
