Job Details

Our client, a leading life sciences company, is looking for a Technical Writer Life Science. This is for an initial duration of 6 months and is located in Marlborough, MA.

Job Type: Contract (Candidates must be able to work on W2 without haves:

  • Good, flexible writing ability; writing to style guidelines and create engaging content with agreed messaging and keywords from the brief.
  • A good scientific background (ideally life sciences) to enable the interpretation of SME input and to identify messaging that helps bridge the technical information with the goals of the content.

The successful candidate would be expected to have the following experience:

  • Scientific writing, content writing, marketing copywriter preferably with experience of writing in the life sciences
  • A degree in the life sciences, e.g. biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, or microbiology
  • Documented experience from writing and editing scientific articles, blogs, white papers, application notes, case studies, or other educational content in a scientific subject
  • Experience from an academic research environment or experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Skillset:

  • Writing ability Must be able to write engaging content that meets the content performance objective in accordance with brand tone-of-voice and that resonates with relevant brand narratives.
  • Scientific foundation to be able to understand the content enough to write it effectively benefits from some form of scientific foundation and a general scientific curiosity that will help extract the right information from an SME when needed. Ideally the writer would have knowledge of the life sciences industry, but adjacent scientific areas (simple biology, chemistry etc) are likely to support. We are not looking for an SME, simply someone who can grasp the basics enough to be able to support the writing process.
  • A working knowledge of the basics of Marketing and content performance, including how to write to optimize content for search (SEO) when identified within the brief.
