Summary
Own complex Information Protection work across mainframe environments. Research, design, and administer security controls to protect data at rest and in motion. Lead investigations, reduce risk, and mentor junior team members.
What you'll do
Design, implement, and administer security controls and procedures for mainframe platforms.
Identify and analyze security risks/exposures; perform root-cause analysis of complex incidents and drive long-term fixes.
Administer RACF (profiles, ACLs, groups, datasets) and leverage the Vanguard tool suite for governance, reporting, and remediation.
Develop and tune policies, standards, and monitoring to protect information processed, stored, or transmitted.
Provide malware/threat monitoring and coordinate crisis/incident response as needed.
Partner with QA/ops/app teams on secure configurations, change reviews, and exception handling.
Support enterprise continuity/BCP planning and testing; contribute to disruption/crisis management playbooks.
Create models/runbooks, track security trends/metrics, and present risk findings to stakeholders.
Coach junior analysts/engineers; act as the subject-matter resource for mainframe security.
Work autonomously, escalating only for specialized "expert" input.
Required qualifications
5+ years in Information Security/Information Protection, with mainframe focus.
Hands-on RACF administration and Vanguard tool suite experience.
Strong background in systems security, technical support, and incident/crisis management.
Proven ability to evaluate/select/adapt both standard and complex security techniques and procedures.
Excellent judgment, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred
BS in Computer Science, Information Security, minumum requirment is Highschool diploma or GED
Experience with business continuity/DR testing, security metrics/reporting, and user enablement.
