Overview

We are seeking a Data / Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to play a critical role at the intersection of data architecture, engineering, and business strategy. This position ensures that enterprise data assets are accessible, secure, and reliable to support analytics and informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions that support descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with business and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Identify and integrate data sources to support organizational goals.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling
    • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions (data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts).
    • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Tool & Platform Evaluation
    • Recommend and implement tools and platforms that align with architectural strategy and business requirements.
    • Ensure BI visualization tools support business use cases effectively.
  • ETL/ELT & Pipeline Management
    • Design, develop, and test data pipelines and integrations.
    • Manage ETL/ELT processes to ensure smooth movement of data into the enterprise warehouse.
  • Data Catalog & Metadata Management
    • Build and maintain an enterprise data catalog with automated metadata ingestion.
    • Establish data dictionaries and ensure all data assets are properly documented and tagged.
  • Data Governance & Discovery
    • Enforce governance policies ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
    • Enable self-service data discovery by curating and organizing assets in a user-friendly manner.
  • Performance Optimization
    • Monitor and optimize BI systems and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to teams.
    • Establish and promote best practices in data management and BI development.

Technical Environment

Experience with the following technologies is highly valued (candidates are not expected to have expertise in all):

  • Data Platforms: Data warehouse & data lake concepts, dimensional modeling, cloud services (AWS Redshift, S3, RDS; Azure Synapse, Data Lake; Google BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica)
  • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other relational/non-relational systems
  • BI Tools: Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Business Objects, Crystal Reports
  • ETL/ELT: AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow, Fivetran, Talend, dbt
  • Big Data Technologies: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
  • Programming & APIs: Python, R, XML, Keras, Scikit-learn
  • Machine Learning / Analytics Engines: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Apache Spark, Trillium
  • Modeling Tools: MS Visio, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner
  • Source Systems: On-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments

Work Location

  • Hybrid role: on-site presence required at least two days per week at the designated office location.
