Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis and/or business analysis, with a focus on data governance.
  • Proven experience working with senior management (executive team) and leading data governance initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience with data quality management, data profiling, and metadata management tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g Python with Pandas, R).
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation) is highly preferred.
  • Industry-recognized data governance certifications (e.g. CDMP) are a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

"We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual for a Senior Data Analyst / Business Analyst role with a strong focus on data governance. This senior role requires a unique blend of advanced technical data analysis capabilities, exceptional business acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and senior business stakeholders, including the executive team. Candidate will be responsible for leading data governance initiatives, conducting complex data analysis, gathering and documentation of requirements, facilitating communication across teams, and ensuring data governance compliance."

Data Governance Leadership :

  • Lead and facilitate meetings with senior business stakeholders (executive team) and technical teams to define and implement data governance strategies.
  • Drive the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Champion data governance best practices and promote a data-driven culture within the organization.

Business Analysis :

  • Elicit, analyze, and document complex data governance requirements from business stakeholders at all levels, including the executive team.
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise technical specifications for data governance solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations to gather feedback, build consensus, and communicate data governance principles.
  • Create high-quality documentation, including meeting minutes, presentations, and reports for the executive team.

Data Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps.
  • Understanding of data quality dashboards and reports to monitor data governance metrics and provide insights to the executive team.
  • Perform data lineage analysis to understand data flow, dependencies, and potential impacts of data governance changes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Critical Data Elements (CDEs), Metadata management, and data lineage within the Organization's data landscape.
  • Analyze data requirements for applications and reporting, ensuring alignment with data governance policies.

Communication and Collaboration :

  • Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders at all levels, including the executive team.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including data architects, engineers, and business users.
  • Present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, tailoring communication style and content as needed.
