Senior Mechanical Engineer - Custom Automated Machinery Location: Rochester Hills, MI

Jessup Systems, a leader in innovative engineering solutions, is hiring an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Rochester Hills, MI. We specialize in designing and building turnkey finishing equipment for cleaning, stripping, electroplating, coating, and conversion coating across various industries. We're seeking a driven professional with a passion for tackling complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Design and engineer custom automated machinery, ensuring solutions meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using CAD software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including controls engineers, project managers, and fabrication, to deliver fully integrated systems.
Oversee the design process from concept through fabrication, installation, and testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve design and engineering challenges during the fabrication and commissioning phases.
Evaluate customer requirements, budgets, and timelines to develop optimal engineering solutions.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in and lead customer facing concept reviews
Support Project Management team in project scheduling

Qualifications
10+ years of experience in mechanical design for custom automated machinery or related industries.
Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and precision motion.
Experience with GD&T and mechanical detailing.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and assembly.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
