Job Title: Database Administrator / Developer
Duration: 6 Months (High probability of conversion to full-time after completion)
Location: 90% Remote | 10% Onsite - [Minneapolis, MN]
Position Overview
The Database Administrator / Developer will be responsible for upgrading, maintaining, and optimizing SQL database systems within an enterprise environment. This role requires a strong background in SQL Server administration, data platform technologies, and database performance tuning. The ideal candidate will collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing data systems that support business applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
Upgrade and maintain Microsoft SQL Database Systems to the latest supported releases.
Monitor, manage, and optimize database performance and reliability.
Assist IT teams and internal customers with ITIL-based incidents and service requests related to databases, data access, and data management.
Manage SQL Database Systems in Microsoft Windows, Network, and Microsoft 365 environments.
Serve as a key infrastructure contact for application and cloud upgrade projects.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across systems.
Participate in performance tuning, backup/recovery, and capacity planning activities.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Servers in an enterprise environment.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SQL technologies, including Always On Availability Groups (AOAG) and replication.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with Microsoft 365 data platforms.
Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within technical teams.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Attributes
Proficiency with performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with data migration, cloud integration, and hybrid environments.
Strong understanding of security and compliance standards for enterprise databases.
Experience participating in IT infrastructure or modernization projects.
