About Store Development and Design

The Dallas Studio is seeking a store design manager supporting our studio portfolio in the South Central & Western Mountain markets. This is a fast paced, design forward role, executing projects while leading the overall renovation program. Lead the development and implementation of the vision for Starbucks brand, creative objectives, and design process to enhance the Starbucks experience for the consumer, while innovating best-in-class, meaningful design.Our ideal candidate understands distinctive processes and timelines and is a problem solver that thrives in a team environment and can adapt quickly and effectively to project issues that arise with an appreciation and focus on design opportunities in all projects.

As a Design Manager, you will...
  • Manage a portfolio of projects. - Contribute to studio team goals by delivering a set number of stores in conjunction with meeting all established deadlines.
  • Execute complex designs. - Oversee multiple project types while bringing specific expertise on influential projects, complicated renovations, & new store building conversions.
  • Collaborate on regional initiatives. - Develop need-based solutions that are not on an established nationwide roadmap to solve.
  • Support Sr. Design Manager & Sr. Designer. - Participate in market planning / renovation scoping meetings and act as a proxy (when requested) for design reviews, working master, etc.
  • Train & mentor others. - Foster a creative studio culture role-modeled around servant leadership.


We'd love to hear from people with:
  • Store Designers looking for Design Manager experience.
  • Design Managers looking for experience beyond their current region.
  • 3+ years experience designing new stores and existing renovations.
  • 3+ years experience managing consultants.
  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Capability to influence beyond a single project amongst your studio, cross-functional team, and / or external support.
  • Ability to work in Revit/Sketchup + Enscape and produce high quality 3D renderings.
  • The aptitude to communicate clearly and concisely in writing, verbally, and visually.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in Architecture, Interior Design, or related design field.
