Job Details

The Product Owner leads a team to discover and deliver a product that creates meaningful value for stakeholders and users. Facilitate decision-making in service of shipping successful features. Clearly understand users, what they need, what impact the business expects from the product, manage stakeholder expectation and collaborate closely with the product team.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize SW Product Features

  • Establish an Outcome Oriented Product Roadmap, Manage the Backlog, Produce Portfolio, Program and Team Metrics in Application Lifecycle Management tool (Atlassian Jira and Confluence)

  • Collaborate with Engineers on Test-driven development, Pair programming, Evolutionary design, Collective code ownership, Retros, Short iterations, CI/CD

  • Define and articulate product vision, strategy and roadmap Define business model Define Minimum Viable Product Identify and test assumptions Release real product often Understand customers Adjust direction based on data Constrain resources and time

  • Collaborate with Product Design on User interviews, Ethnography, Define personas, Usability testing, Service design, UI/UX Visual design

  • Understand and prioritize work creating and managing container pipelines within Tanzu or have supported an existing environment

  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity to resolve items on POA&M

  • Experience working in a DOD and Agile Development environment that combines Lean, Scrum and XP frameworks

  • Understanding of cloud architecture

  • Ability to correlate requirements to specific tasking

  • Familiarity with JIRA, User Stories and updating Jira tickets to with appropriate levels of content

  • Experience with documentation (Atlassian Confluence)

Desired/Required Skills:

  • 4-6 years years of Software Product Manager/Owner experience

  • 4+ years of programming experience working as a Software Product Manager/Owner Experience working with with developers using Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Computer Science, or Information Systems (or at least Ten (10) years of hands-on experience with Marine Corps/Navy/DoD systems validation experience)

  • Experience working on a development team and proven experience designing desktop applications

  • Experience designing concepts and drawings to determine the best product

  • Secret clearance or higher preferred

  • 8570 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)

  • Experience improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts.

  • Experience with a range of automation and configuration management tools including but not limited to Ansible, SCCM, Jenkins, Puppet, or others

  • Support standard Agile ritual meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives) as necessary and assist Scrum teams in execution of Sprints.
