RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Austin, TX.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer/Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and maintaining the Division's core switches, implementing deployment plans for intersection switches, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program and maintain the Division's two main core switches
* Ensure optimal performance and reliability of core network infrastructure
* Implement a deployment plan for over 900 EtherWan intersection switches
* Set up and maintain a Radius server for network authentication
* Ensure secure and efficient user access management
* Set up and maintain a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management system
* Monitor network devices and ensure timely issue resolution
* Evaluate and revise security policies to meet industry standards
* Implement best practices to safeguard network integrity and data privacy
* Collaborate with internal organizations to implement Active Directory Authentication and Federation
* Facilitate secure access for external users
* Configure cellular modems for network redundancy
* Integrate with EtherWan switches for failover, load balancing, and secure communication
* Ensure continuous network availability during primary fiber connection failures
* Regularly monitor network health and performance
* Test failover processes and optimize network performance
* Troubleshoot signal issues, update firmware, and secure the cellular backup solution
REQUIREMENTS:
* Certification in Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent
* Proven experience with Cisco Systems and EtherWan switches
* Experience in setting up and maintaining Radius servers and SNMP management systems
* Strong knowledge of network protocols, security standards, and best practices
* Proficiency in Active Directory
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with cellular modem configuration and network redundancy solutions
* Experience with Cradlepoint
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
