Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist I to join our team in Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in engineering and geology, with up to five years of related geotechnical experience.

This role involves both field and office work, including soil and rock analysis, data collection, and report preparation. Candidates must be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing for extended periods during field assignments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations, soil sampling, and subsurface explorations.

  • Assist in analyzing geotechnical data and preparing engineering reports.

  • Support senior engineers in developing foundation and earthwork recommendations.

  • Perform laboratory testing and interpret soil and rock characteristics.

  • Participate in site inspections and monitor geotechnical construction activities.

  • Prepare technical documentation, logs, and drawings as required.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on engineering and geological projects.


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geological, or related field).

  • Master s Degree in Geology (required).

  • 0 5 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering or geology.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork, including walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar).

  • Familiarity with soil classification systems and ASTM testing procedures.

  • Excellent technical writing and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork orientation.
