Our work depends on a Senior Systems Engineer to provide packaging & distribution support, which includes support for the deployment, monitoring, and reporting of the retail applications across application channels such as: Full Window Service (FWS), Military (MIL), Self-Service Kiosks (SSK), Business Partners (BP), Mobile Retail Devices (MRD), and Self-Service Terminals (SST).

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Deployment of driver, firmware, and configuration updates as needed for RSS terminals
  • Testing and deployment of security updates using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)
  • Testing and deployment of Symantec/Microsoft Windows Defender antivirus updates
  • Testing and deployment of monthly updates to payload packages
  • Testing and deployment of various packages in labs
  • Provide support for lab environments
  • Perform ServiceNow Incident & Change Management implementation
  • Provide package deployment reports
  • Provide monthly, or upon request, key performance metrics based on established deliverables

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related professional work experience

Required Technical Skills:
  • Provide programming support to develop and test scripts that package hot fixes, security updates, and configuration updates
  • Provide programming support to develop and test scripts that package hot fixes, security updates, and configuration updates for future devices
  • Review script execution logs to ensure proper installation
  • Maintain and update the terminal bare-metal provisioning process
  • Create and review ServiceNow Change Requests
  • Complete packaging activities as directed by the Program Management Office
  • Interact with stakeholders to ensure package handoffs are accurate and complete
  • Monitor deployment of scripts to ensure off-line systems eventually receive all updates
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the following software and technologies to meet the critical needs of retail systems: Windows 10, Escher Riposte, .NET, PowerShell, Windows Server Update Service WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), XML, and REST APIs

    • hybrid (1 remote, 4 onsite)
  • May require off-hours/weekend support either on premise or remotely, as deemed necessary

Security Clearance Level:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $95,896 - $129,742. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
