Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: Position requires that the employee be onsite a minimum of three (3) days each week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). You will be based out of Milford Proving Grounds.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation benefits. All relocation would be at the expense of the candidate for this position.
The Role:
We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled Staff Continuous Integration Architect to lead and elevate CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) pipeline initiatives across VMEC, with a focus on scalable build automation, release coordination, and embedded platform integration.
You will serve as a technical leader and advocate for CI/CD excellence, collaborating across Embedded Platform Engineering and VMEC to deliver scalable, efficient, and user-centric integration systems.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of software delivery in automotive systems, influence enterprise-wide engineering practices, and drive innovation in embedded platform development.

Company Vehicle:
Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. What You'll Do:
- Architect and evolve CI verification/validation strategies for VMEC.
- Design robust testing strategies utilizing executable specifications for mechatronic systems.
- Lead performance optimization of CI systems, focusing on build speed, mean time to recover (MTTR), and developer experience.
- Drive CI system development with VMEC user requirements and SDV Mechatronic Platform architecture.
- Partner with GM Tools teams to define and develop DevOps tools, pipelines, and automation.
- Ensure CI systems align with CALMR principles and support BIQ practices like Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and continuous delivery.
- Negotiate and communicate the timing of branch software releases across teams.
- Champion pipeline solutions and lead their implementation with urgency across software platforms.
- Leads end-to-end integration of software, hardware, and testing into a fully automated system ready for deployment across virtual and physical environments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Represent the voice of the VSEE user community in tool forums and development discussions advocating for consistent process development and growth.
- Communicate CI vision, roadmap, and improvement opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
- Champion a quality-first mindset and advocate for scalable, testable, and maintainable embedded software practices across teams.
- Stay current with emerging CI/CD technologies and share insights with tools teams and business users.
- Proactively identify and drive implementation of enhancements to CI systems and testing processes.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in integrating software, hardware into a CI/CD architecture.
- Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++, with experience in embedded software development.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction while dealing with ambiguity.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of experience in integrating software, hardware into a CI/CD architecture.
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end automotive software testing principles, including integration, system, and acceptance testing.
- Deep understanding of applying continuous integration within embedded software development environments.
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO26262, ASPICE).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and large-scale agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe).
- Experience debugging complex production systems and leading root cause analysis.
