Scrum Master

Role: Scrum Master
Location: Washington DC (3-4 days onsite per week)
Duration: Fulltime

Responsibilities

Agile Leadership & Team Support

• Serve as the primary Scrum Master for the development team, facilitating Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure adherence to Agile principles.
• Manage disruptions and remove impediments to enhance the team's efficiency and productivity.

Impediment Removal

• Proactively identify and resolve obstacles hindering the development team's progress.
• Leverage your technical background to better understand and address technical impediments effectively.

ADO Board Configuration and Maintenance

• Manage and configure Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards, including customizing work item types, workflows, and Kanban boards to align with the team's processes.
• Establish and maintain a clear, well-organized backlog structure for effective work management.

Sprint Planning and Tracking

• Facilitate Sprint Planning sessions using ADO Boards, defining sprint goals and creating sprints.
• Track sprint progress, monitor burndown charts, velocity, and other key metrics to ensure the sprint stays on track.

Reporting and Analytics

• Utilize ADO's reporting features and integrate with Power BI to generate progress reports and track key metrics, such as sprint progress, resource burndown, and work item cycle time.
• Provide data-driven insights to stakeholders by designing custom dashboards to visualize project health and team performance.
• Automate reporting processes where possible to streamline information sharing.

Requirements Management

• Use ADO Boards to manage project requirements, from initial capture through refinement and implementation.
• Ensure that requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and tracked throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development environments.
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum framework, and Kanban practices.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards, including configuration and customization.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Technical background to understand and address technical impediments effectively.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
