Employment Type: Full-Time, ON SITE 5 DAYS A WEEK
Position Summary:
We are looking for an agile and experienced Network Engineer to lead the modernization of our network infrastructure. This role will focus on migrating from legacy Cisco 9900 series devices, optimizing HP closet configurations, and transitioning from a flat Layer 2 network to a robust Layer 3 architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in routing protocols, switching, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud VPN integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the migration from Cisco 9900 series switches to modern network infrastructure.
Redesign and implement a scalable Layer 3 network architecture, transitioning from the current Layer 2 setup.
Integrate and optimize existing VLAN configurations for improved segmentation and performance.
Extend and manage VPN tunnels to cloud environments for secure connectivity.
Configure and maintain routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) to ensure efficient and resilient network communication.
Support and maintain HP closet switches, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including policy creation, threat prevention, and traffic analysis.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN/WAN environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and cloud integrations.
Required Qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching, especially in Cisco and HP environments.
Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, subnetting, and inter-VLAN routing.
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security best practices.
Proven ability to manage and extend VPN tunnels to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, evolving network environment.
Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
