IT Specialist - Secret Clearance Required

Location: Mount Clemens, Michigan
Clearance: Ability to obtain SSBI; SECRET Interim required to start

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated IT Specialist to join our team supporting one of the largest intranets in the world, serving the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy. This role provides hands-on desktop and systems support, working closely with IT specialists to maintain mission-critical technology across a large, distributed environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career IT professionals looking to grow into advanced roles such as NetOps or SysOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain IT systems in both stand-alone and client-server environments, including Microsoft Server, Defense Message Systems, and other authorized platforms.
  • Support hardware and software for network services, storage devices, and servers.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot multiple information systems in a networked environment.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, system repairs, and issue resolution to maintain mission readiness.
  • Install and configure wireless hubs, routers, switches, transmission media, and server hardware/software.
  • Ensure proper installation and configuration of workstation hardware and software for optimal network performance.
  • Install, optimize, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN).
  • Work with technologies such as IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT.
  • Provide Tier 1 desktop support for escalated issues from the Enterprise Service Desk, including imaging, Windows 10 deployments, software rollouts, and hardware fulfillment for Marine Corps personnel.
  • Report directly to IT Specialist Sr. for guidance, escalation, and professional development.

Required Education & Experience

  • 2-4 years of relevant IT experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Certifications

  • CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level compliant)

Preferred (Not Required, but Strong Plus)

Holding any of the following may lead to accelerated career advancement:
  • Any CompTIA certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - potential promotion path to NetOps
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) - potential promotion path to SysOps

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.13 - $34.13/hr.
