Description

The Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) is seeking multiple Salesforce Agentforce Architects (STC #1220: Applications Architect Advanced).

As an Agentforce Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing intelligent agent-based solutions within Salesforce. This role requires both strong technical expertise and the ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable architectural designs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Design overall system architecture and define component interactions.
  • Create, customize, and optimize Salesforce agents, workflows, and prompt templates.
  • Test, refine, and implement prompt engineering strategies to ensure context grounding, reduce hallucinations, and improve agent performance.
  • Map complete agent journeys across various tasks and customer interactions.
  • Define topics, actions, decision flows, data sources, and compliance/security plans.
  • Build integrations using Apex, Flows, APIs, JavaScript, or other languages; connect external data sources via Data Cloud, MuleSoft, etc.
  • Configure retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge bases, and context management.
  • Enable Agentforce features in Salesforce orgs, including roles, permissions, and Agent Builder setups.
  • Define strategies for scaling applications as demand grows.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Agentforce concepts (topics, actions, prompts, grounding, guardrails, Atlas Reasoning Engine, integration patterns).
  • 3+ years of experience in generative AI, prompt engineering, RAG, NLP concepts, and responsible AI practices.
  • 3+ years of experience with Salesforce declarative tools (flows, configuration, permission sets) and coding in Apex, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 3+ years of experience in API architecture and data integration.
  • 3+ years of experience diagnosing issues, analyzing agent behavior, monitoring outputs, and driving improvements.
  • 3+ years of experience in data mapping and large dataset interpretation.
  • Strong ability to deliver excellent customer support and maintain meticulous quality standards.
