Job Title: Workday Financial Functional Consultant General Ledger (GL) Architecture Exp
Location: remote

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Consultant with deep expertise in General Ledger (GL) architecture to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing Workday Financials to meet organizational needs,
with a particular focus on GL setup, chart of accounts, financial reporting, and integrations with sub-ledgers.
This role requires strong functional knowledge, business process understanding, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Financials GL architecture including ledger structures, accounting hierarchies, and chart of accounts.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for financial processes and reporting.
Configure Workday Financial Accounting, Journals, Period Close, Allocations, and Intercompany processes.
Develop and maintain ledger period schedules, reporting hierarchies, and cross-ledger mappings.
Collaborate with integration teams to ensure smooth data flow between Workday and external systems (e.g., ERP, banking, payroll).
Provide guidance on best practices for Workday Financials configuration, reporting, and data governance.
Support testing cycles including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Develop custom reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools.
Assist in month-end and year-end close activities from a Workday system perspective.
Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and propose long-term solutions.
Deliver training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and end users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years of functional experience in Workday Financials, with at least 3+ years in GL architecture.
Strong understanding of Workday Financial Accounting, Business Process Framework, and Reporting.
Proven experience in chart of accounts design, ledger setup, and financial hierarchy management.
Solid grasp of accounting principles, GAAP/IFRS, and financial reporting requirements.
Experience integrating Workday with other financial systems and data sources.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Workday Financials certification in General Ledger or Core Financials preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
Knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning or other financial planning tools.
Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics for financial data analysis.
Prior experience in ERP transformation projects from legacy to Workday.

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
Workday Financials certification highly preferred.
