Enterprise Architect Azure(Richmond /Virginia - Remote) We are looking to hire a candidate with the skills sets mentioned and experience for one of our clients.
Job summary :
We are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect with expertise in Azure and a strong background in enterprise level architecture. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and a proven track record of working collaboratively with software development teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient architectural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the existing software development team to support the design and development of a new platform.
- Work across Application Development, Service Delivery, and Infrastructure teams to establish and implement enterprise architecture standards.
- Research, design, document, and pilot enterprise architectural standards and initiatives.
- Partner with application development management to prioritize architecture-related efforts.
- Lead and contribute to key enterprise architectural design projects.
- Ensure alignment of architectural strategies with business and IT goals.
- Promote best practices and architectural governance across teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong emphasis on cloud (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Deep understanding of architectural design principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Strong grasp of cloud-native architecture, hybrid cloud strategies, and infrastructure-as-code
- Deep knowledge of Azure Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, and Identity services
- Hands-on experience with Azure Resource Manager, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center
- Proficient in Azure SQL Managed Instance and other Azure database services
- Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization tools such as Docker and Helm
- Proven ability to lead cloud strategy and roadmap discussions with enterprise stakeholders
- Solid understanding of cloud governance, cost management, and security best practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Skilled in automation and provisioning using PowerShell, Bicep, and Terraform
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, RBAC, Azure AD, and compliance frameworks like ISO, SOC 2, and NIST
- Ability to design and review secure architectures at scale
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborative mindset with experience working with cross-functional teams including development, security, and business leaders
- Strong knowledge of application development, infrastructure, and service delivery domains.
- Experience working in public sector or government environments is a plus
- Certification such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is required
