What you will do
This role is responsible for supporting production by reviewing the schedules and process flow, performing process time studies, creating and/or updating labor calculators, auditing job hours, and facilitating continuous improvement projects associated with the manufacturing methods and processes by use of lean and six sigma principles in the Hattiesburg plant. To develop solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, labor routings, and developing production controls. This role is a key player in working with the manufacturing department, quality department, and other engineering departments in furthering the success of the plant, projects, and daily responsibilities/tasks.
This position is on-site at our Hattiesburg plant

What you will do

How you will do it
- Develops and performs time studies on manufacturing processes.
- Develop labor standards and calculators for new and existing products, processes, and departments.
- Support supervision with schedule planning, reviewing scheduled hours, and department labor.
- Support manufacturing with ensuring there are sufficient quantity and quality of tools and supplies for the job.
- Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment. Investigate their potential applications and support with capital expenditures and justification for these new equipment items and/or processes.
- Support manufacturing engineers with equipment issues/ troubleshooting, repairs, or tooling needs.
- Supports the introduction and processes of new products into the plant.
- Use 3D software to design storage carts, racks, or handling equipment for manufactured parts.
- Identifies different forms of waste and implement improvement projects. Audit projects for sustainment.
- Co-champion high-performing manufacturing teams by supporting daily meetings and help drive team accountability and cross-shift communication/transparency.
- Train operators in problem solving tools and facilitate root cause to fix manufacturing issues.
- Create training documentation for the shop associates such as: Work Instructions, Operational Description Sheets (ODS), and One Point Lessons.
- Knowledge of NCP programs and associated processes.
- Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
What we look for
Required
- University degree in B.S.I.E or B.S.M.E with a concentration of coursework in Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering. Or at least three (3) years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing engineer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Visio, Autocad and Inventor, as well as Internet software and E-mail are required.
