Job Title : Lead Agilist
Location : Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Duration : 12+ months
Job Description:
We are seeking a Lead Agilist to guide Agile Squads in applying Agile and Scrum values, principles, and practices. The Lead Agilist will act as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator helping teams grow into high-performing, self-organizing units that deliver business value. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and coaching skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coach Agile Squads in applying the Scrum Framework and Agile principles.
- Facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Review, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement) to ensure they drive value.
- Coach Product Owners and Development Teams on effective backlog management and delivery practices.
- Foster a trusting, collaborative environment where issues can be raised and solved openly.
- Guide teams in self-organization, cross-functionality, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Use observational skills to identify team needs and provide tailored coaching.
- Remove impediments or escalate when necessary to keep teams focused and productive.
- Promote learning, growth, and Agile mindsets across the organization.
- Leverage Agile frameworks beyond Scrum (Kanban, XP, Scrumban, etc.) to improve team effectiveness.
- Encourage innovation, data-driven decision making, and measurable improvement.
- Shield teams from external disruptions and align them with organizational priorities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of full-time business experience.
- 3+ years hands-on Scrum/Agile experience.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills across multiple organizational levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to remove impediments and resolve conflicts.
- Knowledge of Agile practices (CI/CD, TDD, automation, DevOps pipelines).
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.).
- Strong leadership with a servant leader mindset.
- Ability to build trust, foster team growth, and promote innovative thinking.
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
