Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support across a dynamic environment, with a focus on software, hardware, and peripheral troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting end users in a hospital or enterprise setting, with strong skills in Windows systems, peripheral devices, and ticketing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve software-related incidents, including break/fix issues across various applications and systems.
  • Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks such as software installations, hardware upgrades, and system refreshes.
  • Provide support for a wide range of peripherals including paper and ID card scanners, barcode scanners, credit card readers, label printers, signature pads, Dragon dictation microphones, and RFID readers.
  • Deliver deskside support for Windows 10 devices and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Utilize remote support tools such as LogMeIn to troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
  • Maintain and manage tickets through the ServiceNow ITSM platform, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Provide walk-up support at staffed tech bar locations, offering immediate assistance to end users.
  • Apply basic Active Directory knowledge for user account management and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of support activities and contribute to knowledge base documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Windows 10 environments and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory for basic user and group management.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of peripheral devices and their configurations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with remote support tools such as LogMeIn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience providing deskside support in a hospital or clinical environment.
  • Experience using ServiceNow for ticketing and incident management.
  • Familiarity with tech walk-up bar support models.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Leonardtown, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
