Job Details

Texas GovLink, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has been a leading provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Enterprise Cloud Architect to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Work hours and Location

8:00AM-5:00PM CST Monday through Friday

Job Location: 6230 E Stassney Ln, Austin, TX 78744

Hybrid, 2 days remote (Tues & Fri) with 3 days (Mon & Wed & Thurs) required to be onsite. Program will only allow candidates who are local to Austin, TX (Within 50-mile radius).

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives focused on enterprise infrastructure and cloud solutions.
  • Act as a strong communicator and technical liaison between shared technology services, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor teams and educate stakeholders on cloud and infrastructure best practices.
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and connectivity in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Ensure all infrastructure solutions adhere to NIST 800-series and CIS Benchmark v4.0 security standards.
  • Implement secure configurations, identity management, and access control policies.
  • Architect, design, and optimize hybrid and multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Maintain and evolve Landing Zones to ensure compliance, cost optimization, and scalability.
  • Define guardrails and enforce governance using policy-as-code frameworks.
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization efforts using tools like AWS MGN, Azure Migrate, and ModelizeIT.
  • Develop migration strategies that minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Bicep/ARM.
  • Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for performance, compliance, and cost control.
  • Design and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) and Backup strategies that ensure high availability and regulatory compliance.

Additional skills and requirements:

  • Multi-cloud Architecture (e.g., At least 7+ years - One role as an Azure Architect, another as AWS Architect, past experiences include Kubernetes solution Architect, Enterprise Architecture and/or DevSecOps).
  • 2-3+ years exp. large scale Cloud transformations, experience with legacy to modernization efforts. Understanding Security Posture.
  • Migration experience including standing up Landing zones for migration acceleration.
  • Cost optimization techniques by reducing servers/instances to PaaS based solutions.
  • Certification in AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Prefer someone who worked directly with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google Cloud.
  • Hands on Experience in writing IaC.
  • Prefer Current experience includes AI/ML based project.

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

10 years of:

  • Experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud architecture, or related roles.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing hybrid multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, IAM, and governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM/Bicep).
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-series and CIS 4.0 compliance frameworks.
  • Experience leading modernization initiatives including containerization, microservices, and DevOps integration.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications preferred:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
