Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for provisioning, configuring, operating, and maintaining the organization's server, storage, and compute resources. This role ensures high system reliability and performance, supports both on-prem and cloud infrastructure, and contributes to IT standards, disaster recovery, and automation efforts. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, SAN/storage, hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS), and enterprise IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of servers, storage, and compute resources, including monitoring performance and system integrity.
• Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and application software.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and system documentation.
• Implement and test disaster recovery plans; manage backup and data protection systems.
• Provide Tier III support and troubleshooting for end-users and junior IT staff.
• Optimize performance, plan hardware upgrades, and ensure high availability of mission-critical systems.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi) and hybrid cloud deployments (Azure or AWS).
• Maintain enterprise storage solutions, SAN configurations, and network services (DHCP, DNS, PKI, etc.).
• Automate processes using PowerShell, VBScript, or other scripting tools.
• Stay current with technology trends and recommend improvements to systems and processes.
• Support compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
• Experience: 5+ years in systems engineering or administration in enterprise environments; healthcare experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory (including ADFS), IIS, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Terminal Services, Failover Clustering, and PKI.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architecture, virtualization (VMware), SAN/storage technologies, and disaster recovery.
• Proficient in automation/scripting (PowerShell, VBScript) and SharePoint Online.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.
