Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Engineer II. Develop platform services for Akamai infrastructure, including building and deploying systems and software that will allow operations scaling. Build and deploy secure, scalable, elastic, manageable and reliable solutions using open source components and programming languages. Build and deploy highly available APIs using Python. Work closely with site reliability engineering teams to ensure systems are manageable and reliable. Participate in the SDLC from requirements through deployment. Utilize and apply knowledge of systems programming language, SQL databases, linux/unix environments, and internet protocols. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States. [AG1024]

Required Qualification:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering.

Must have completion of a university level course, research, thesis, or internship involving the following: UX research methodology; Figma High-Fidelity Prototyping; User Interface Design; Python-based Machine Learning; TensorFlow AI Implementation including network layers, artificial neurons, and learning and training mechanisms; technical documentation including stack rationale, code structure explanations, system design, and technical flow diagrams; and Interaction Programming.

Compensation:
\n
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $98072 - 174200/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
\n
The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
