Technical Lead Java/AWS

Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)

Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead Java/AWS with 6 8 years of strong development, leadership, and production support expertise. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with Java/MS technologies, AWS Cloud, REST/SOAP APIs, DevOps, and SQL scripting, while also demonstrating strong leadership in managing onsite/offshore teams and driving end-to-end solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead application development and production support across onsite/offshore teams.

  • Design and develop REST/SOAP APIs and microservices using Java technologies.

  • Leverage AWS Cloud services for scalable, secure solutions.

  • Drive DevOps practices and automation initiatives across CI/CD pipelines.

  • Implement BPM development using Camunda/Flowable.

  • Write and optimize SQL scripts for data management and reporting.

  • Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic) for system health and performance management.

  • Work with ServiceNow (CMDB) and JIRA for service management.

  • Apply ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management) effectively.

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve support processes.

  • Document technical architecture, integrations, and support transition from incumbent vendors.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 production issues.

  • Plan and execute different types of maintenance: Adaptive, Perfective, Corrective, Preventative.

  • Lead and guide offshore teams to ensure deliverables are met on time.

  • Drive resolution on system restoration calls, collaborating with multiple IT groups.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • 6+ years of hands-on Java/MS development experience.

  • Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud services.

  • Proven experience in leading teams for application development and support.

  • Expertise in REST/SOAP API development.

  • DevOps and automation skills, including CI/CD best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL scripting.

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (New Relic, etc.).

  • Proficiency with ServiceNow CMDB, JIRA, and ITSM processes.

  • Ability to manage onsite/offshore delivery models.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Good to Have

  • Experience in Camunda/Flowable BPM tools.

  • Exposure to Python or other scripting languages.

  • Knowledge of automation with Terraform/Infrastructure as Code.

  • Airline or large-scale enterprise experience.
