Job Overview:
The System Administrator I will provide technical support for microprocessor-based industrial control systems, applications, and technologies in a Microsoft and Linux operating system environment. This role focuses on the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), a high-availability, mission-critical system that provides Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for the company's industrial control assets in the delivery and management of electric power. The position involves system maintenance, troubleshooting, security compliance, project work, and 24/7/365 on-call support, including storm support.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all work activities professionally, ensuring a safe and accident-free workplace.
  • Troubleshoot and support ADMS systems for real-time monitoring and SCADA control of assets.
  • Participate in 24/7/365 on-call support, including storm-related emergencies.
  • Provide both onsite and remote support using company-provided tools.
  • Assist in ADMS technology evaluation and selection processes under direction.
  • Perform programming and database activities in a multi-cluster active-active redundant database environment.
  • Develop a basic understanding of network, security, operating systems, patching, backup, and recovery relevant to the ADMS control system.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of ADMS system hardware and software.
  • Contribute to the development of standard procedures for compliance and security.
  • Monitor performance, tune systems, and plan capacity for high-availability, mission-critical systems.
  • Stay updated on company and departmental procedures for operational and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, management, and vendors on technical and business matters.
  • Prepare and submit reports, documentation, and other required tasks on time.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with basic understanding of network, security, operating systems, patching, backup, and recovery relevant to ADMS control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve business and technology problems in a highly technical, high-availability, and regulated environment.
  • Industry certifications in programming, security, processes, databases, networking, operating systems, auditing, and/or compliance are desirable.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Work in a normal office environment with occasional visits to field locations.
  • Primarily sitting with some standing, walking, and moderate lifting.

Pay Range: $30 - $34

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
