Job Details

Role: Power BI Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months

Power BI Architect Azure Ecosystem Modernization
Responsibilities:
Conduct stakeholder interviews/workshops to capture business needs and user expectations.
Inventory existing Power BI reports, datasets, and data sources.
Assess current architecture, design, security, and infrastructure against best practices.
Review Power BI usage patterns, data refresh logic, and performance metrics.
Evaluate data pipelines for real-time/near-real-time readiness.
Analyze workspace design, sharing practices, and governance model.
Identify gaps in self-service, performance, security, and governance.
Align Power BI strategy with the organization s broader Azure roadmap.
Propose a Power BI semantic model strategy for consistency and performance.
Design a high-level Azure Power BI architecture for scalability and cost efficiency.
Recommend governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management frameworks.
Define a phased modernization roadmap with quick wins and long-term goals.
Present findings, designs, and roadmap to business and technical leadership.
Qualifications:
8+ years BI architecture experience, 4+ years in Power BI.
Strong Azure Data Platform expertise (Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Analysis Services).
Advanced DAX, Power Query, and data modeling skills.
Proven record in governance, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
