Job Details

Piper Companies is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for a world wide organization located in San Jose, CA. The Mechanical Design Engineer will have expertise in Mechanical Design for UCS Servers. The Mechanical Design Engineer will need to work on-site 5 days per week in San Jose, CA and is a long term contract opportunity. This role is not able to provide sponsorship.

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Develop and execute system-level designs for mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring functionality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Utilize Creo software to create precise 3D models and technical drawings.
  • Innovate and optimize designs utilizing sheet metal, injection molding, and die-casting techniques.
  • Build prototypes and perform testing to validate design concepts while adhering to industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve design challenges, delivering innovative solutions to enhance product functionality and manufacturability.

Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, specializing in servicers, routers, switches, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in Creo software for mechanical design and development.
  • In-depth expertise in sheet metal, injection molding, and die-casting.

Compensation for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
  • $45-$55/ hour
