Title: Sr. Mainframe Network Engineer
Location: Remote

Rate: $85/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Mainframe Network Engineer with expertise in mainframe hardware infrastructure, storage, disaster recovery, and network management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in z15/z16 mainframe environments, SAN switching, and automation scripting to optimize performance and ensure system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and manage mainframe hardware (z15/z16/HMC/DS8000/TS7700/TS4500/FlashSystems).
- Configure and manage Cisco or Brocade SAN switches using SANNAV tools.
- Oversee firewalls, proxy policy management, and high availability solutions.
- Manage enterprise disaster recovery, data replication, and backup processes.
- Work with IBM z/OS (Mainframe), z/VM (zLinux), and FICON configurations.
- Perform Mainframe IO GEN tasks and monitor system performance.
- Utilize ServiceNow (incident, change management, CMDB) & Jira for workflow.
- Develop automation scripts using Linux Bash, Python, and RESTful APIs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with mainframe infrastructure and SAN environments.
- Strong Unix/Linux administration and scripting skills.
- Hands-on experience in disaster recovery and performance optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
