Job Details

The Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) Program is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of Aviation Policy and Plans (APO) in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

The APO consists of four divisions that develop a wide range of dashboards, project plans, and tracking tools used to communicate key information to senior leadership and decision-makers across the agency. The Systems and Policy Analysis Division (APO-200) provides independent quantitative and qualitative analyses, information, and tools for policy decisions involving cross-cutting or novel civil aerospace issues, such as new entrants to the National Airspace System. APO-200 also identifies potential changes needed in FAA's legislative authority (reauthorization) and facilitate implementation of legislative requirements, including Reports to Congress.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide expert and professional data analysis to implement effective and innovative solutions meshing disparate data types to discover insights and trends.
Provide an advanced capability for data analysis of information from disparate data types, promoting visualization and storytelling to discover insights that help guide business decisions across all APO divisions
Recommend prototypes and develop visualizations of reauthorization requirements using FAA-approved IT tools such as Power BI, including incorporation of AI/ML technologies where they can enhance the data analysis.
Create and maintain workflows, dashboards, reports, and forms that support critical division activities (e.g., the Program Management Review for the Deputy Secretary of Transportation and governance decision-making processes for the FAA Administrator.
Collaborate closely with Federal staff to develop and refine data-driven presentation products.
Assist APO in tracking agency deliverables related to Executive Actions and Executive Orders.
Disseminate data and analytical results using different platforms (e.g., written reports, presentation tools, dashboard platforms, etc.).

Basic Qualifications
BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. (Direct professional experience with the FAA and relevant credentials may be considered to supplement degree or minimum years requirement).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Office, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.


Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Suitability.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior Federal Government contracting experience, preferably FAA, is highly desired.
Ability to analyze data using Python, SQL, and statistical software such as R, Stata, or SAS.
