Job Details

Work with a team of engineers to support the hardware design and delivery of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) cabinets and associated electro-mechanical hardware components and subassemblies. Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements. Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Issue hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics for I&C products.
  • Manage Bill of Materials and revision control of design packages.
  • Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, testing and manufacturing of I&C hardware products.
  • Generate design, equipment, and requirements specifications for I&C hardware.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications
  • Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of design or analysis of products.
  • Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
  • Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests
  • Interface with suppliers and/or manufacturing facilities to support technical issue resolution.
  • Interface with engineering organizations and third-party test facilities in conducting equipment qualification tests.
  • Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues
  • Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international)
  • Execute assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.

Education:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical field

Skills:
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design.
  • Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, schematics, cabinet drawings and panel layouts
  • Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience in CAD/CAE (e.g. AutoCAD/Inventor) software is desired
