Job Details

The Multi Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is looking for an experienced Enterprise Network Architect to serve as the Network Enterprise System Team Lead on a fast-paced program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network engineering, a strong understanding of DoD IT requirements, and proven leadership skills. The primary responsibility of this candidate is leading the program's enterprise network engineering services team on-site at our Network Operations Center, providing 24x7 monitoring of critical customer networks. You will oversee the deployment of managed services, workstations, and networks, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and security standards. In addition, they will collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. The Enterprise Network Architect will be an integral member of the Program Management Office (PMO) team, collaborating on strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with overall program goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of 20+ network, cybersecurity, and field engineers in the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure for DoD environments.
  • Oversee Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, ensuring high availability, security, and rapid incident response.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for NOC/SOC monitoring, escalation, and resolution.
  • Analyze system performance and security metrics to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with the PMO team to align network engineering efforts with overall program objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standards.
  • Participate in the development and execution of governance processes
  • Conduct network performance monitoring and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure adherence to DoD security requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Develop procedures and processes for responding to network incidents and problems, coordinating resolution efforts to minimize service disruptions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Conduct regular assessments of network performance and capacity, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and updates to management and key stakeholders, including the PMO.
  • Manage organizational compliance with Leidos policies and procedures.
  • By personal example, set the tone and direction for moral and ethical leadership.
  • Build a culture grounded in the Leidos values, beliefs and expectations and highest standards of ethical and respectful behavior.

Basic Qualifications:
  • with at least a Top Secret Clearance is required. With the ability to obtain a SCI prior to your start date.
  • Bachelors Degree with 12+ years of experience or Masters degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Expert knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise network design principles and networking technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Expert knowledge of networking hybrid cloud architectures, especially to the Azure Cloud.
  • Expert knowledge of DoD networks, especially classified and operational networks.
  • Expert level industry certifications to meet DoD 8140 requirements (e.g. CCIE
  • Strong knowledge of DoD regulations and standards, including RMF and NIST frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and a desire to lead and mentor a high-performing team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in security management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA Security+)
  • Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+)
  • Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Previous experience working with federal government or military customers
