Valiant Solutions is seeking a Sentinel Engineering Lead to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!

As a Sentinel Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the configuration, operations, and maintenance of our client's Sentinel platform (Federal Government customer), a critical component of their cybersecurity infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets the organization's security requirements and effectively detects and responds to threats. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the platform's capabilities and scalability, while staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.

This position allows for 100% remote work, as long as you live within 25 miles of a regional office. Remote work necessitates a high-level trust in our employees and we strictly adhere to the details found below in our Remote Work Policy.

Required Experience:

  • ship and the ability to obtain a public trust federal clearance
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Azure Sentinel SIEM platform
  • Relevant industry certifications, including, but not limited to Microsoft Certified Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, or other relevant certifications
  • Knowledge of the Azure Sentinel components
  • Experience configuring Sentinel data connectors
  • Experience developing and managing custom Sentinel data connectors
  • Experience designing, configuring, and managing custom Sentinel workbooks
  • Experience designing, configuring, and managing Sentinel analytics rules and automation playbooks.
  • Experience designing and implementing RBAC across various Sentinel resources.
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud Technologies such as Azure, M365 Defender, Azure, Active Directory, and Exchange Online
  • Knowledge and familiarity with different security attack vectors and means of protection.
  • Proficiency and experience in KQL
  • Intermediate PowerShell experience
  • Basic support experience with Networking and Storage
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment and the ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated experience working independently to resolve complex issues

Responsibilities:

  • Configuration, operation, and maintenance of the Sentinel platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical specifications for platform enhancements
  • Ensure the platform aligns with the organization's security policies, compliance standards, and business objectives
  • Oversee the implementation of new features, enhancements, and integrations to improve the platform's effectiveness
  • Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor team members to maintain high coding standards and best practices
  • Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance reliability and scalability
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to automate deployment processes and ensure seamless platform updates
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to guide platform development and threat detection strategies
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to analyze security incidents and refine alerting and response capabilities
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on platform performance, key metrics, and ongoing initiatives

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $110,000 - $140,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described below.
